Miniflux Alternatives
Miniflux is a self-hosted feed reader that you can use to follow websites and blogs.
Miniflux also has a hosted option.
There are several hosted alternatives to Miniflux, including:
- Artemis, a calm web reader (with no notifications, no unread counts, and a daily update cadence).
- NewsBlur, a feed reader with advanced features for filtering and curating your feed.
- Feedly, which has both features for following websites and email newsletters.
Miniflux vs. Artemis
The best way to find the right web reader for you is to experiment with different tools and see which one you like!
Below shows the home pages of Miniflux and Artemis, contrasted:

Artemis is designed to help you keep your focus. You only see post titles and author names. To see full posts, you can click on a post. This lets you experience a web site as designed by the site author.
Both Artemis and Miniflux are minimal, but Miniflux has unread counts and tags whereas Artemis does not.
Artemis intentionally shows no metrics (read or unread counts, or notifications) to try to make your feed feel less like an inbox and more like a fun place to follow websites.
Unlike Miniflux, however, Artemis is not open source and thus cannot be self-hosted.
Artemis is free.
